Better Way Farms is a family-owned business focused on growing the best organic blueberries possible while also preserving the soil they grow in. As part of the overall rebrand, a cohesive packaging system was created to differentiate their blueberry products (including berries, juice, jams, and frozen) from the rest of the market.

Better Way Farms’ story is one of humble family beginnings, picking blueberries by hand and hand-delivering boxes to members of the community. As they have grown over the years, Better Way has committed itself to regenerative organic farming to care for the earth and restore nutrients to the soil. The package design system aimed to capture the essence of this story in a community-centric, conscious visual language. The organic forms and illustrations exuded a friendly, human element that felt as approachable as their first days. A simple, straightforward design was utilized to highlight Better Way’s emphasis on clean, organic farming.

The common thread of all products was showcasing the richness of the blueberries that were a result of farming with care. This was primarily executed by creating transparent “windows” in the labels for the blueberry products to shine through. This allowed consumers to view more while on the shelf.
