Make-A-Wish Icon Library
With such an amazing mission of making the dreams of children with critical illness come true, working with Make-A-Wish on their rebrand was very meaningful. One critical and ownable aspect of the rebrand was developing a wide-ranging catalogue of iconography to be used for communications and by chapters worldwide.

There were several key factors that came into play when designing each icon. While focusing mainly on U.S. communications, with such an international presence, this icon library needed to be functional and able to be understood regardless of language or cultural barriers. Of equal importance was maintaining an almost “magical” aesthetic that joy being brought to the children through their wishes being granted. Each icon was intended to not only communicate a simple visual, but be a tool used to tell a story about how Make-A-Wish was seeking to improve the lives of children in-need.
In Application
Throughout Make-A-Wish’s print and digital communications, the iconography played an integral role in establishing its overall brand essence and voice.
